ABOUT

About us

The Travis House vision is to help change the course of young men’s lives so they have the skills and the heart to meet the needs of their children, spouses, community and society as a whole. Addiction is a disease of isolation and our program is designed to end that isolation through our therapeutic community residential model, spiritual growth and biblical participation. We do this by giving them the tools and the support required to develop honesty, integrity, respect for self and others, combined with the interpersonal and vocational skills needed to create in them a work ethic and a desire to improve their lives and those around them.

Work

Regular employment aids recovery. Work is a prime source of self-valuation and esteem and is necessary to be productive in life. Residents of Travis House must be employed or find a job as soon as possible after entering the program and remain employed throughout the program. Staff and the Work Force Center help with finding employment. Developing a positive work ethic is part of the program.

Support Groups

Travis House residents must attend at least three faith based support groups a week including NA/AA meetings of their choice. Through reaching out to others, sharing testimonies, strength and hope, residents develop partners in their pathway to recovery as well as a sober community of friends.

We are Faith Based

We believe that there is a dark hole to fill as a result of addiction that only God can fill. We expect residents to be willing to learn about God, Jesus and the Bible. They will participate in daily prayer, devotions and bible reading. Residents must attend church once a week and to become involved with others seekers of faith. Each person is required to prepare his own spiritual goals and present them to the community.

WE ARE NOW CARR CERTIFIED! (Colorado Association of Recovery Residences) This means that CARR certifies that Travis House meets the standards of a Level two Sober House.

Program Phases

The Travis House Program consists of three phases. The Intensive Residential Program, (IRP) has two phases, the orientation phase and the work phase which lasts four to six months. The third phase is the Extended Residential Program (ERP) which lasts three to nine months. Men write their own concrete, growth and spiritual goals, which are approved by their community. They “phase up” by successfully completing their goals and the completion criteria for each phase, as determined by their community.
